Some Conversations

 Would like to capture these conversations Danni and I have had over IM (instant messaging).


1. Co-Pilot

‘Is your happiness/unhappiness really just about you?’

I think we are like in co-piloting a plane.
Both of us are on driving seats, both of our hands are on steering wheel.
We are driving this family through the cloud at the moment.
There would be bumpy rides at time.
There would be thundering and lighting.
Every now and then, there would be better days.

We can’t let off the steering.
If we don’t drive it, no one else can.

Everything about you is not just about you.
It is about this family.


2. Rainy Day

‘There wasn’t a drop of rain on Thursday’
In contrary to weather forecast, it was a bright sunny day.
It is not all bad to have a wrong forecast.

At least we made the effort to put up the tool shed yesterday, fearing rain may damage the wood floor.
I had even wrapped the whole shed in trampoline.

But there wasn’t a drop of rain.
That isn’t really a bad thing.

It pushes us to get something done.
Just an hour after work.
And save us a big more useful trunk of time on weekends.

That actually was good.

(now at the time of writing this – Friday – it was a day of grey sky and downpour).
